Politics

Guam is governed by Lourdes Aflague Leon Guerrero and a 15- member house. 

Guam's people feel part of American society, and their economy is subject to good measure to the US military bases that exist on the island. The relationship with the US also contributes to make the island a major tourist destination among Japanese tourists. The Guanamo population played a strategic role very important in World War II, due to its proximity to Japan.
